Club raises RM100,00 through 2 projects

DESPITE the economic slowdown, KiClub managed to raise RM109,371.81 for Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Yatim Rumah Visi – better known as Vision Home – in Ipoh through its CARs-KiClub for Vision Home and KiClub Energy Hand T-shirts charity projects.

The funds are needed to construct Vision Home’s own building. Currently, the welfare home operates from a rented double-storey house and has 24 children who are abandoned, destitute, abused or orphans.

Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony in Petaling Jaya recently, Vision Home chairman and founder Dr Daniel Velloo thanked KiClub president and founder L.C. Wong and the club’s members for their efforts and care for the children in the home over the years.

He also thanked CARs International executive director Lee Yew Weng and general manager Lee Kong Yew for the company’s participation in the projects and its contributions.

Also present at the ceremony were Selangor MCA Youth chief Dr Kow Cheong Wei and MCA Youth Strategic Planning Research Bureau chief Niel Foo.

In his speech, Kow congratulated Velloo and Wong for their noble deeds.

He also emphasised the importance of education and reminded the children of the home to study hard for a brighter future.
